Funky and hotel close to Eurostar and Thalys terminal
A 1920's building, very close to the Thalys & Eurostar terminal, transformed to a metropolitan design hotel, by Constantin Poulgouras - the recognised creator of the first designer hotel in Brussels.
Using ideas from a collective of European designers, this is a masterclass of how to turn old town houses into magnificent palaces.
Creative and Funky, the reception is like an intimate nightclub. Ascend the lift to the rooms and on every floor you'll see photo montages on the walls of friends and colleagues of the owner, immortalised by photographer Carol Kohen on room doors in etched aluminum and on stunning photo canvases. As you walk through the hotel you'll find their discrete presence in a variety of playful hotel scenarios, including a pillow fight, will bring a smile to the most jaded traveller.
It's a nice touch to discover that these are real people, rather than just hired models from an agency. These images add to the funky-yet-informal feel of the property. A bonus is that if the furnishings and fixtures are something you like, they're available to purchase, with details provided in the room or at the front desk.
A real home hotel - be welcome, be Manos
