The Swiss Travel Pass is the all-in-one ticket for international guests to travel by rail, road and waterway throughout the whole of Switzerland. It also offers discounted fares on most mountain railways and cableways and free admission to over 490 museums.
From 1 January 2017 the cog railway and aerial cableways on the Pilatus are included in the Swiss Travel Pass. The railway leaves from Alpnachstad, while the lower terminus of the gondola and Dragon Ride cable car is in Kriens – either way, travel on Lucerne’s landmark mountain is now included.
Standing 2,119m high, Pilatus is the city of Lucerne's home mountain. Float through the air in the cable car that feels like a helicopter cockpit – or ride along vertical rockfaces with a 48% gradient in the historic cog railway, the steepest in the world.
