About The Old Railway Station

Pullman carriages converted to luxury suites to capture the romance of a bygone age

Luxury train journeys were once defined by Pullman train services such as the Orient Express, The Golden Arrow and Bournemouth Belle, and some of their Pullman carriages have been lovingly restored here. There are 4 Pullman carriages providing 8 suites. Many elements have been improved, like fully equipped bathrooms, while others are simply retained, such as the splendor of the decorations. In addition, the Old Station House, built in 1892 for the Prince of Wales - later Edward VII - has been sympathetically restored, providing 2 additional en-suite bedrooms.

Goodwood House, racecourse and racing track is nearby as is the South Downs for country walks.

Dress to impress in these classy carriages!

Our stay at the old railway station was birthday trip for myself organised by our son and daughter and from the moment we arrived you could feel the caring attitude of every member of staff that we met. Our first night was in the station house ad the room was very spacious, comfortable and clean. The second night was in spent in the Pullman carriage Montana and again was a wonderful experience. The breakfasts were so filling and cooked to perfection, we would have know hesitation in recommending the Old Railway Station to anybody.

We have just returned from a nights stay at the old railway. We were greeted by a lovely lady who served us a beautiful cream tea. We were then shown to our carriages which were beautiful. We were going to have a meal in the badgers inn but because of the flooding were unable to do this. We had a lunch time drink there and we're made to fill most welcome. We ended up at the cricketers who made us fill at home as well . Will certainly return and recommend to family .

My wife & I have just returned from a lovely weekend in one of their converted railway carriages. The rooms are very comfortable, and the staff were exceptionally helpful. Although they don't do evening food, there is a pub within walking distance which does. The cooked breakfasts in the Station were the nicest I have ever tasted and a million miles away from the slop which is served in most chain hotels. There is a lounge for guests in the Station itself, and they do cream teas and supply lots of reading matter. It seemed as if the pace of life slowed down when we got there - very relaxing and very comfortable - marvellously eccentric - a real treat to stay in for a weekend away from the stresses and strains of the modern world.
