Accommodation at The Old Jail is very basic.
Rooms:
2 doubles (cells), 19 twin shares (cells), 2 three bed dorms (Gaolers residence), 2 six bed dorms, 1 ten bed dorm, 1 self contained unit accommodates six people.
Total Capacity: 96 people.

Facilities:
Kitchen for self catering guests. TV Lounge. Quiet lounge with wood fire. Dining area. Lots of outdoors walled garden spaces. Pool table. Satellite television.

 Restaurant:
Turn Key's Restaurant is available for prebooked groups by arrangement and is able to sell beer or wine to guests. They won't leave you dry at The Old Jail !

The Old Jail is aimed at the budget traveler. Jail layout and presentation is much like it was when in operation as a jail. Tariffs start at AUS $22.00 per person for a multi share dormitory (non cell). Four share cells are available for 3 to four people at AUS $22.00 per person. A double cell with ensuite toilet only costs AUS $52.00 for two people. One self contained unit (formerly a women prisoner dormitory) costs AUS $70.00 for two people.

Half price rates for children (U16yrs). All tariffs include breakfast provisions from the guest kitchen, sheets, blankets, pillow cases. Towels are available at AUS $1.00 extra per towel. We are able to cater for groups in the Jail's former dining room. The dining facility is licensed to sell alcohol.

Location:
Close to City centre (1Km). Margaret Street, Mount Gambier. Entrance via driveway alongside tennis courts. Put Golf and public swimming pool nearby.
The bus station is 1Km away.

Lots of pubs with entertainment. Nightclub. Cinema. Games arcades, Games yard for indoor Cricket and Soccer. Darts board. Free self-guided tour (AUS $3.30 charge for non-guests.)

Attractions:
The Blue Lake. A lake in a volcano which is in the centre of town. Walking trails. Mount Schank - climb inside a volcano. Wildlife park (Free entry). Cave tours. Sink holes where you can feed possums. Paintball gun adventures. Go-karts.
