An unusual stone Villa dating from around 1760, in a commanding position within a protected area of outstanding natural beauty. Described as 'Manhattan in Tuscany' the compassionate treatment of the lovely old structure is supercharged by contemporary interior design and a playful, functional appointment of space. This recent restoration is bold and executed with integrity and great style. Bright,spacious and fully equipped for entertainment and comfort, rain or shine. Breakfast of coffee/tea,
pastries/toast/fruit is served inside the vaulted tower gallery or out on the terrace in the garden. If you
would prefer a tray to your room, or an earlier start, let the owners know the
evening before.
ROOMS
Four luxuriously appointed double bedrooms with flat TV screens, international satellite boxes & DVD players. All of the rooms have "Frette" linen and duvets, feather pillows and orthopaedic sprung mattresses. Sanitary ware is by Phillip Starck, basins in travertine marble. Showers are open sided with sandblasted stone, (very non slip), with large rain shower heads. Towels and bathrobes are also by "Frette".
Two of the rooms can be interconnected for family use. All rooms lead into a vast, open space, tower room where breakfast can be taken in case of cooler weather or on the terrace in case of fine weather. Bedrooms are air conditioned for the hottest days and underfloor heated for the coldest. All windows have Venetian
blinds fitted with mosquito screens for those cooling summer breezes in the evening that ensure undisturbed rest.
Prices are between EURO €195-250 according to room choice.

The house is located within an ancient estate now dedicated to
Bio-Agriculture. Take long picturesque walks between vineyards, olive
groves and woods or venture further to visit the world renowned wine
making towns of Montepulciano (15min) and Montalcino (25min). The ancient
Papal summer retreat of Pienza (20min) has beautiful architecture and
astounding views of the Valley of Orcia There are also four natural hot
water spa resorts close by at Rapolano Terme (20min) and Bagno
Vignoni (30min). Wind and kite surf on Lake Trasimeno (20min) the largest
lake in Central and Southern Italy, horse ride (10min) or play
golf (10min) nearby.
Siena
Siena (30min) is the location of the world famous
bi-annual bare back horse race "Il Palio" and Cortona (25min) and is a must see
tourist town nestled on the slopes of the Appennine Mountains.
Shopping
Finally,
for the shopper, there is the Outlet Village (10min)
- (www.valdichianaoutlet.it/index.php/vov_en) - one of the largest in Italy, where you'll find over 100
factory shops. Towards Florence "The Mall"
(30min) - (www.themall.it) and the Prada outlet (35min) provide fine
designer shopping at bargain prices.
