Underground Suite Details
After a guided tour of the -155m underground level, you are provided with a basket of refreshments and something to drink. The Sala guide then leaves you alone in your suite below ground to enjoy the refreshments and the quiet of the mine. In the morning a guide comes to serves your breakfast before you're taken to ground level again.

The underground suite costs 3750 SEK for 2 persons (inc. taxes). 

Included in this price is a guided tour of our 155 m level, your refreshments basket, breakfast and your stay in the mining suite. A simple toilet is available about 50m away from the suite. Showers are available in the Sala Bed and Breakfast above ground.

STF Sala Silvermine Bed & Breakfast
Additional accommodation above ground in the mining area estate is available. Called Marketenteriet (The Canteen), it was originally built as a rooming house for unmarried men around 1920. It has 15 double rooms with washbasin and a shared toilet and shower in the hallway. Check out their entry in the UHTOW guide.

Some things to think about
Wear warm and comfortable clothes for the underground tours. Year-round, it is only 2 degrees Celsius. The underground festivity hall and suite are warmed up to 18 degrees and the bed is equipped with a thick cover and an extra pair of blankets.
Sala staff are available for you above ground during the whole night. You will be given an intercom radio through which you can communicate. Mobile phones do not work at 155 under ground, so if you expect to be contacted, please ask them to ring the mine's general phone number.

Sala Silvermine is situated in the middle of Sweden in the Regional district of Västmanland. It is 120 kilometres from Stockholm, 62 kilometres from Uppsala, 37 kilometres from Västerås, 81 kilometres from Eskilstuna and 114 kilometres from Falun.

To Do Locally
The mine area has now been developed into a venue for events, adventures, parties, weddings and conferences. Guided tours at different levels underground, children tours, adventure tracks, handicrafts, museum, concerts and other events are now available. Within a small radius there are several other places of interest to visit, among these are elk - and bird safaris, art museums, etc.

Underground, there is more than enough space for whole company events! Pull the team together with a series of team building exercises set in the wonderful environment of Sala Silvermine. A different day with a mixture of historical settings and creative problem solving coupled with exciting activities both above and below ground. In the southern area of the mine lies one of Sweden’s most exciting and beautifully situated adventure courses, with several stimulating features such as ropeways, hanging bridges and other challenges at high altitudes.
