The lodge is located in a sheltered oasis in untamed Kachemak Bay State Park, just north of Tutka Bay, midway between Seldovia and Halibut Cove, and only 10 miles by boat from Homer, Alaska, the “Bear Viewing Capital of the World”, gateway town for the Kenai Fjords National Park, Lake Clark National Park, and Katmai National Park.
Lodge activities
Activities include bear viewing, beachcombing, hiking secret nature trails for use of lodge guests only, wildlife photography, sea kayaking, glacier kayaking, river rafting, clamming, fishing, touring the neighboring villages of Seldovia and Halibut Cove, glacier touring, flightseeing, beach fires, saunas, or just relaxing in the hammock with a good book. Unguided activities available at the Lodge are:

All of the equipment for lodge activities is included in the cost of your stay - sea kayaks (double or single), life vest's, paddles, binoculars, cameras, berry or beachcombing buckets, clam shovels, walking sticks, backpacks, fishing rods, a starter pack of bait, and a library full of books and movies. Through the years, Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge has attracted artists, writers, adventurers, and peace-seekers alike yearning to experience the beauty, friendship, service, and tranquility that can be found at this very special place.
Full of character in every aspect, Sadie Cove is unique, personal, fun, adventurous, and positively memorable. A number of specialist trips can be booked at additional charge: Private Sea Kayaking and wildlife viewing - Lunch included at a private picnic spot, no experience needed. Kayak in remote areas of Kachemak Bay spotting wildlife, local plant life, and sea creatures at the low tides. No more than 6 participants and, more often than not, there will be just your own group of 2 or 4.
Private sea kayaking expedition. Spend 2 days and one night at Sadie Cove Wilderness Lodge. Two days of expedition kayaking to a remote, backcountry cabin, yurt, or campsite. This is a full-service, first class expedition including all meals, gear, and guides. 2 person minimum, 6 person maximum
