A project for the Linz 2009 European Capital of Culture created a hotel where creatively designed rooms are dispersed across the city. Pixel im Hof provides a 1960’s camping caravan, installed inside an industrial warehouse. Pixel mit Garten
is a flat and shopfront converted to showcase an indoor garden with attached
bedroom.
Pixel in der Textilpassage
provides a living space on four separate levels, dominated by a floating island
where you’ll find your bed for the night. It also includes the Neverland den,
conceived with a ceiling too low for adults and filled instead with kids toys
and pillows. Pixel in der Volksküche includes a remote controlled fold away bed in the building that is home to Architekturforum Oberösterreich – itself a showcase of modernist, minimal decoration.
Pixel am Wasser provides a room on 1958 tug, MSZ Traisen, now restored and lying at anchor in Linz
harbour.
