Monte Chora Cascas have named their six rooms after guardian angels, the initials of which form the word “sonhar”, meaning “to dream” in Portuguese.

Each room is individually furnished and features specially selected bed linen, dressing gowns, towels and slippers from ARTE PURA, an Italian brand exclusively available in Portugal through Chora Cascas Choice.

Breakfast

Breakfast is included in the room rate and is served in Club CC between 8.30 and 11.30.

Club CC

Club CC is Monte Chora Cascas’ culinary annex, with a large breakfast/dining room and an open kitchen. Its covered terrace has a view of Montemor-o-Novo’s hilltop castle and the surrounding countryside.

For reasons of scale and concept, use of the Club’s kitchen as well as catering arrangements are limited to Monte Exclusivo guests.

Honesty Bar & Petiscos

This specially designed bar and kitchen in the main house has drinks as well as a selection of delicious snacks and simple meals. In the interests of guests’ autonomy and of promoting mutual trust, the Bar&Petiscos is always open and functions on a self-service principle. This means that guests are responsible for noting down what they eat and drink, to be confirmed and paid for when they check out.

The wide open landscapes of the Alentejo beckon every lover of the outdoors. Explore them on foot, by bicycle, on horseback – or from the basket of a hot-air balloon. The Concierge can help you with each of these options.

The municipality of Montemor-o-Novo has turned a disused local railway line into a bicycle and walking trail, the Ecopista do Montado. It offers perhaps the easiest way of experiencing the nature of the Alentejo, and the Concierge can organise bicycle rentals or horses (with a guide) for an outing among cork oaks and olive trees.
