At MAMA SHELTER you'll find sensual and elegant rooms equipped with iMacs and 5 Star bedding to offer you a serene retreat after a long day in the city.

On the ground floor, a restaurant with simple family style dishes conceived by Alain Senderens, an enormous bar that also serves the purpose of being trendy, a brasserie, and a terrace where you might run into American rappers, Japanese painters, or Latin American writers. This space is not a prisoner to design. It's simple and functions as a cultural niche. There are several amusing elements in this space, and it's up to you to look for them and reflect on them. Have a seat in one of the armchairs near the chimney, which has been filled with illuminated candles yet to extinguish themselves. Hanging all along these common areas is an enormous curtain from which a crowd of happy faces looks out, arms outstretched, as if they are asking for an affectionate embrace from mankind. Who are the mama's on staff uniforms? What's written on the chalkboards on the ceilings? Lots of little jokes. Lots of little stories to be discovered.

Later perhaps you'll consider an evening across the street at the mythic Parisian temple of international live music, La Fleche d'Or.
