About Hôtel de Glace - Canada

It was so beautiful. We prepared ourselves for the cold temperatures, but ended up being quite comfortable. I was amazed at the beauty. The sleeping bag worked so well, I got hot during the night. The walls were so insulated that we could not hear the music from the "dance hall" once you passed down the hall. The sculpture exibit was fasinating. I did not realize how much detail could be carved into ice. Overall WOW!!!!! I tell everyone to try it and I can't wait to go back!

What a fun experience! I stayed last winter for one night and then a few nights in Quebec city... The hotel is beautiful and the little ice bar they have is so fun! I was nice and toasty in the sleeping bags they gave us and i slept like a babe. We got the extra room in the lodge (I was afraid i'd get cold, im a big baby) and didnt even need it. We were going to do dog sledding, but there was a huge snowstorm the weekend we went so we had to cancel. I'd love to go back and experience that! Loved the outdoor hot tub too!

"We stayed for one night in feb 09.The sculptures were amazing, our friends thought we were crazy to go north in the middle of winter, but this memory will last forever! I would recommend it to anyone. The staff was also quite fun and made for a pleasant stay. the dogsledding was also unique.Greg&KK from PA.

I stayed for two nights a couple of years ago....fabulous place! I offer one word of advice to anyone considering booking a room for the night: Do not get into the sleeping bags they give you when you are cold, as it will keep you cold.....rather take a hot shower (in the facilities provided), dress warm enough to make a dash to your "ice" room and climb in your sleeping bag. I guarantee that you will be forced to remove all of those layers due to how hot you will get during the night! Trust me I learned about both extremes the hard way! Happy Travels :)

We stayed here on February 15, 2008 and had an amazing time. The hotel and the grounds are incredibly beautiful. We began our stay by touring the common areas then had drinks in the lounge (in glasses made of ice, of course!) before retiring to our room. Since we were celebrating Valentine's Day a day late we brought along a bottle of champagne and Godiva chocolates. It was quite romantic cuddling up on the reindeer pelts to stay warm while sipping our champagne out of plastic cups! The experience of sleeping in the cold was actually very refreshing. I was toasty warm in my sleeping bag but poked my head out often to feel the cold air on my face. We were awakened at the designated time with steaming hot chocolate in souvenir travel mugs. We booked a "Winter Adventure" package which included a room at the Auberge for the same night as the ice hotel stay, dinner and breakfast at the Auberge, our room at the ice hotel, complimentary drink at the ice lounge, and dogsledding the next morning. We chose to dogsled early and had access to our Auberge room to take a hot shower before it was time to check out. This is an experience I highly recommend.

i stayed the lst night in 2008. it was nice, not to many people there (it wasn't complteley booked). we had a theme suite with fireplace. well worth the money. you can't get into your room before 9 pm becuase of group tours so there is so much to do that it doesn't matter. we went dog sledding (on the same property). the ice bar was cool and the drinking glasses are made of ice.

An absolutely amazing, wonderful and beautiful place to get married! There's no words for it. But be prepared for a chilly night....but you can have a lovely hot chocolate by the warm fire in the main building.
