Cove Park is an international centre for the arts and creative industries. Founded in 1999 by Eileen and Peter Jacobs, Cove Park’s annual programme of residencies enables national and international artists, working in all art forms, to undertake research and develop new projects. Situated on a 50 acre site overlooking Loch Long on the Rosneath peninsula, near the fringes of Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park, the peninsula is an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
When Cove Park's residency programme is not in progress, the self-catering accommodation, created from steel shipping containers and two grass-covered pods, is available for private hire. The pods were the original accommodation for the BBC TV series Castaway 2000, relocated to Cove Park from their original location on the island of Taransay. The industry standard shipping containers have an open-plan layout with standard cooking and sleeping facilities inside. They offer a splendid view from the front windows across to Loch Long and the surrounding hills. With a balcony overlooking a small pond, the containers afford marvellous views and a different accommodation option for weekend breaks or longer holidays.
