About Chiwoonjung Hanok Boutique Hotel

Traditional and historic Korean hotel

Bukchon, a northern village outside Seoul, allows guests to explore the culture, tradition and the history of Korea, as though time had stopped. Chiwoonjung Hanok Boutique Hotel, located in Bukchon, is a traditional, Korean styled boutique hotel that blends well into the surroundings, where guests are still able to enjoy the culture and observe the decorum of traditional Korean life.

The King always paid a visit to Chiwoonjung when he left the palace during the Chosun Dynasty (1392 ~ 1910), and for nearly 600 years, many influential families and artists would share their collective visions and express their ideas and thoughts. Even more than a time capsule of traditional Korea, Chiwoonjung used to be a private mansion for the former president, and many celebrities from all over the world have visited.

Mixing 600 years of tradition with the modern in this Royalty-endorsed property.

BRILLIANT BEST Spent 8 days in the splendour in old Korea. Kindest staff the world has seen.Refinement in service ,exquisite food, touching cutlery and the pampering care.We have lived in many conditionings world over but this was out of this world in the many added little things they do each day to make you believe in human kindness. It more than a holiday but more a practical lesson of the goodness of human nature.. East at its very best as the staff from big to small take you to another world.Comforts from another age.

A haven of relaxation This hotel isn't a cheap option but if you're looking for a place to relax, eat wonderful and experience traditional Korean culture it's absolutely perfect. It's located in the Hanok district of Seoul so you are in the midst of the historic part of town. The owner kindly explained the history of the hotel and of the Hanok to me on arrival. The hotel is small and beautiful. The staff are very attentive and the traditional rooms are gorgeous. There is also a beautiful garden. The sleeping arrangement is a traditional mattress on a heated floor and is very comfortable. There was a big wooden bath tub in my room which was perfect for a relaxing soak. Tasty dinner and breakfast banquets are served in the privacy of your room, which feature a range of small dishes exquisitely presented in a range of beautiful ceramic bowls. If you want to treat yourself to a indulgent Korean cultural experience, I would very highly recommend a stay at this hotel.
