Longest name in German

Posted By PrincessRoxy on Dec 14, 2011 at 6:11AM

How do you spell that?

When UHOTW visited the World Travel Market in London, Sharla met a woman with a most unusual name.
At the St. Anton Aarlberg, Austria stand, this vivacious lady named Wilma has a claim to fame - the longest name in German speaking Europe. Get ready:

Himmelfreundpointner.

This tongue-twister has twenty letters. What does it mean?

Wilma replies: “It means friend to heaven and the rest doesn’t mean anything”.

Check out Wilma pronouncing it here;

The dirndl-clad Wilma is Deputy Director of the tourist office of St. Anton, in the Tirol region of Austria. She loves Unusual! Oh, and by the way, her e-mail address is simply “Wilma”
