Just to let to know that the eruption of Puyehue Volcano is not affecting Hotel Antumalal, nor Temuco Airport or the close ski area at Villarrica Volcano (actually the whole Argentinean Patagonia and even Buenos Aires are under ashes!!!).Contact the property direct for latest information.News from The Telegraph in the UK
The volcano, dormant for decades, has been spewing clouds of ash more than 6
miles high for the past ten days.

Last call flight FR 6419With quite some sadness I had to leave the Ushuaïa Beach Hotel. Although it is very close to the airport, I never considered that all tourist car rentals would receive their cars at the same time nor did I expect long queues at the single petrol station. It therefore unexpectedly took ages to return the rented Cinquecento. Knowing that Ryanair is extremely strict with punctuality, I heard the last call for my flight when I was going through security check and simply ran for my gate - but too late, it was already closed, even if it was half an hour before departing time.

I'm preparing a short trip to Ibiza for the opening of the Ushuaïa Hotel. Show off or Smart travel? I'll tell while I'm there! Easy to get to from the airport, so I'm booking a Ford Ka / Peugeot 107 for only 42 euros for 3 days, easy to park everywhere and low petrol consumption. I hope it's better than my last driving... Viva Ibiza Baby! For more information about eriCK and his great photo books see www.erickprillwitz.blogspot.c
Enough party on Saturday. I escaped on Sunday for some peace and got for the day to Formentera, rented a scooter and enjoy some of the crystal naturist beaches. I avoid the hot midday sun and drove to the other end of the island to visit one of the lighthouses. For a chill lunch I found in front of it the great bar Codice Luna where I tasted some montaditos with fresh fish when some geckos looked at me. I finished the day driving to the natural reserve of Ses Salines walking up to the Es Pas to have a look at the Illa de s’Espalmador.
Bad weather in Ibiza. Two options, going to a club or get out to discover the island. After a sumptuous breakfast overlooking the Ushuaïa’s pool I took the Cinquecento (there was no Ka available!) to discover a marvellous cala called Olivera where a couple in their 50s run a simply beach bar with good food at decent prices. How funny and lovely they are!!!! The road is a steamy path leading downwards a hill but a place worth to visit.
A Murphy’s law day! The airport was only 5 minutes drive away, but it took ages to get there with a long hotel check out, petrol station and car return.Making things worse, I arrived yesterday with an extra hour of time for everything (check out at the next hotel 1 minute, petrol 2 minutes, car back 5 minutes), then the Ryanair flight was delayed 1 hour! Finally there almost 3 hours. We were at the gate and Ryanair was postponing every 5 minutes pre-flight, then we enter the gate to take the bus and waited extra 15 minutes and once on the plane, we were sitting 45 minutes with no permission to flight.
