About Aurora Express

Mountain-side railway with amazing location, with rolling stock man handled up hairpin bends as a fathers day present.

The Aurora-Express offers some of the most unique and delightful accommodations to be found in Alaska. Many of the railroad car rooms have been decorated with historical themes from the late 1800's. Other cars have faithfully restored the romance of the great trains using the well-appointed sleeper cars.

This was a great place to stay. We wanted something different and got it. It was fun to sit at the front of the train and watch the Northern lights. Would stay here over any other hotel/motel/B&B. Great breakfast.

This place is amazing. They did an incredible job with this project. The trains are classic. I recommend it to everyone. Food is great, we had a blast. I will be back.

We stayed here in 2006 and loved it - my favorite accommodations in Alaska. I would not say that the average rate was below $100, though. We had a whole car and paid $150, but I don't think you can get under $100. The breakfast was great, too.
