About Ataman Hotel
200 year old house carved in the rock, now converted to friendly family hotel.
The Ataman Hotel began life 200 years ago as a house carved into the rock in the historical tradition of Cappadocia. It was extended into a large house and estate in the 1950s. In 1985 the property was acquired by the Ataman family, restored and converted into a beautiful hotel.
The hotel has an uninterrupted view across the valley, is surrounded by 'Fairy Chimneys' and near to several early Christian rock churches.

Each room is unique and beautifully decorated in traditional Turkish style but incorporates a modern bathroom. The rooms are spacious and are available for anyone from singles to large families.
Prices include buffet breakfast with a wide choice of hot and cold foods, cereals and fruit, four course dinner from an extensive international menu and self-service hot and cold drinks in the room.
The Ataman Hotel has a research library with books in several languages about Cappadocia and all aspects of life in Turkey from pre-historic times right up to the present. There is also a spacious cave bar, a restaurant and extensive terraces.

Map & Activities
The hotel is within easy walking distance of the centre of the village of Göreme, and Göreme is at the heart of Cappadocia. It is situated in the Uzun Dere Valley at the point where the road from Göreme becomes the walking trail through Pigeon Valley.
The nearest airport for scheduled internal flights is at Kayseri. We can provide a transfer service between the hotel and the airport.
All local activities, ballooning, guided tours, horse riding and much more, can be organized through the hotel but you will not be put under any pressure. If your idea of a good time is to wander through the valleys and picnic on the hills - we'll just help you find your starting point.
